Setting Up A Reseller Shipping Station
Share

Are you a reseller looking to streamline your shipping process and ensure your items arrive safely to customers? Investing in the right supplies can make a significant difference in the efficiency and professionalism of your shipping operations. Let's explore the essential supplies you need to ship items for resellers. This photo above is my actual shipping station. This is how you create a reseller shipping station. And don't forget that it's all tax deductible!
Quality Packaging Materials
One of the most crucial aspects of shipping items is using high-quality packaging materials to protect your products during transit. Opt for sturdy cardboard boxes, bubble mailers, packing peanuts, and bubble wrap to safeguard items from damage. Remember, investing in quality packaging can help prevent costly returns due to damaged goods.
I have a collection of used boxes that I keep under my photography table or broken down in my garage, if they are larger, but I sell a lot of hats so I buy a couple of different sizes for them. I also keep any bubble mailers I get from Amazon. These are the main supplies I always keep on hand that I have to purchase:
Baseball Cap Boxes:
The Boxery 8x6x5 (paid Amazon Affiliate link)
Baseball Cap Bags:
Thank You Disposable Supermarket Bags (paid Amazon Affiliate link)
Clothing Poly Mailers:
Shop4Mailers 7.5 x 10.5 (paid Amazon Affiliate link)
Shop4Mailers 9 x 12 (paid Amazon Affiliate link)
Shop4Mailers 12 x 15.5 (paid Amazon Affiliate link)
Shop4Mailers 14.5 x 19 (paid Amazon Affiliate link)
I buy my bubblewrap from www.americanbubbleboy.com.
Two of the best tools I have is the Box Resizer Tool (paid Amazon Affiliate link) and CANARY Corrugated Cardboard Scissors (paid Amazon Affiliate link) for resizing boxes so I don't pay more for postage sending a larger box then the item needs.
I organize all the shipping tools and poly mailers with this Seville Classics 15-Drawer Organizer Cart (paid Amazon Affiliate link):

The organizing bins on the top I got at the Dollar Tree. A good place to check for ways to help you stay organized. Time is money. Time wasted looking for tape or scissors is time you could have spent listing. And money is money so if you can get it at the Dollar Tree then do it!
Lastly, don't forget to get some of all the free packaging from the USPS website. The free packaging is only for Priority Mail or Express Mail - NEVER use it for Ground Advantage. It's against federal law and could also get you negative reviews from buyers. I also buy 9x5x3 Boxes (paid Amazon Affiliate link) because they fit inside Priority Mail Padded Envelopes.
Shipping Labels and Printer
Ensure smooth and accurate shipping by using clear shipping labels. Include essential information such as the recipient's address, order details, and tracking numbers. This not only helps in efficient order fulfillment but also enhances the professional look of your packages.
One of the first things a reseller should invest in is a label printer! It's quick, easy, and no ink to buy! I have had my Rollo Thermal Label Printer (paid Amazon Affiliate link) since 2018 with no issues. I highly recommend it!

I have the MUNBYN External Rolls Label Holder (paid Amazon Affiliate link) and for the labels I use Thermal Labels 4x6 Roll (paid Amazon Affiliate link)
Cushioning and Void Fill
To prevent items from shifting during transit and getting damaged, use cushioning materials such as air pillows, foam inserts, or crumpled paper. Fill any empty spaces in your packages with void fill to provide extra protection. This simple step can go a long way in ensuring customer satisfaction. I have never bought any. I have keep what I get from my Amazon orders and friends give me some too. Asking your friends for shipping supplies is a good way for free stuff that is just garbage to them.
Tape and Sealants
Secure your packages with high-quality shipping tape to prevent them from opening during transit. Invest in strong adhesive tapes such as packing tape or duct tape to seal your boxes effectively.
I have been buying my bubble wrap and packing tape from www.americanbubbleboy.com. They have a rewards program and you can use that link to get $5 off $25 or more on packing tape. If you buy from them I get $5 off their coffee which I would never buy.
Shipping Scales and Measurement Tools
Accurately calculate shipping costs and avoid unexpected fees by investing in a reliable shipping scale and measurement tools. Ensure your packages meet carrier weight and size requirements to prevent delays or additional charges. This attention to detail can help you provide accurate shipping quotes to your customers.
I bought the ACCUTECK 50 lb Digital Shipping Postal Scale (Paid Amazon Affiliate Link) in 2018 and has been good to me but if I was to buy again I would get this ACCUTECK ShipPro 110lbs Digital Shipping Postal Scale (Paid Amazon Affiliate Link) with the readout separate from the scale:

By equipping yourself with the right supplies for shipping items as a reseller, you can enhance the efficiency, reliability, and professionalism of your shipping process. Remember, investing in quality packaging materials, shipping labels, cushioning, tape, and measurement tools can make a significant difference in customer satisfaction and the success of your business. Buying from my links above gets me a commission from Amazon which helps pay for this website so I can continue to provide helpful content. Thank you.
